Matthew Seneshen — Principal Counsellor

Matthew Seneshen is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and a member of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN).
Matt is a counsellor and clinical educator with over seven years of experience supporting adults and adolescents across community and outpatient mental health settings. His approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in authenticity — with a strong emphasis on meeting clients where they are at, and guiding them alongside at their own pace, both literally and figuratively.
As a queer, male-identifying counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence, chronic illness, and mental health challenges, Matt brings a depth of understanding and compassion to his work. He's particularly passionate about making therapy feel accessible, real, and responsive — not performative or prescriptive.
Matt's practice draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:
- Cognitive Therapy (CT), CBT, and ACT
- Exposure therapy for anxiety, social anxiety, and agoraphobia
- Trauma stabilisation and psychoeducation for single instance PTSD
- Mindfulness and guided meditation
- Motivational Interviewing for behavioural change
- Transactional Analysis for Interpersonal Dynamics
